In December, world leaders will gather in Copenhagen with the "goal" of advancing a solution to global warming, which threatens to destroy our environment, our economies and radically alter our way of life. But are they capable of fixing the planet? Rather than placing our hopes in world "leaders" - who are in reality beholden to corporations, socialists see the solution to global warming as being in the power of the working class. It is workers and the global poor who will suffer most from the catastrophes of climate turmoil, and it is they who stand to gain the most from measures such as environmental regulations, insulation for housing and a public transportation system that will reduce and limit emissions.
