In New York, 1969 queer people were sick of being bullied by the police and hiding who they were.  When the police raided the Stonewall Inn, a popular gay bar in New York the patrons fought back.  The resulting 'Stonewall Riots' lead directly to the creation of the The Gay Liberation Front which was formed to launch a political fight for sexual freedom. We owe our freedoms to the struggles of the past and we must keep fighting - not only to defend them but to keep advancing!
